Alright I guess I need to clarify some of the common misconceptions aboutRecovery Christian Center. I keep hearing this and it seems many people have us wrong. Here are the most common:
1. We are a place of worship with a recovery focus not a program. We . want to have houses eventually and a faith based out patient but not at this time.
2. We are not trying to be an alternative to secular 12 Step programs such as AA or NA. You will NEVER hear us say, "You don't need to make meetings." For pete's sake, I make meetings and so does most of our leadership! If meetings work for you then make them.
3. If you have mental health issues we will encourage you to seek treatment and therapy to promote your wellness.
4. We celebrate whatever path to recovery works for you from whatever issue that causes you to seek it.
5. We will not put you out if you are on drug replacement therapy. We will encourage you to follow your treatment plan and advocate for you to be weaned off as you improve.
6. You don't have to be in recovery from addiction to be welcome at RCC. All of us are recovering from something. The bible is a book of recovery as it is God's plan for recovering His people.
7. RCC will continue to reach all those rejected and disenfranchised. We want all those others don't want. Addicts, alcoholics, gamblers, sex addicts, abuse survivors, returning citizens, those living with HIV and Hep, eating disorders, at risk youth, teen and single moms, folks struggling with sexuality and gender identity, and folk just beat up by life in general or those tired of church as usual are all welcome at RCC. We will love you, meet you where your at and help you get to where God is calling you.
8. We are the place where misfit fit and we are Radical Ministry for Radical Brokenness.
